According to the report by TMZ Early Thursday, Reddick’s death certificate was obtained, concluding that he died of ischemic heart disease and atherosclerotic coronary disease.
Hours later, Reddick’s attorney, James Hornstein, issued a statement to PEOPLE.
“I represented Lance Reddick for many years and continue to represent his wife.” Stephanie. A coroner’s statement on a death certificate is not the result of an autopsy. No autopsy was performed on Lance. To my knowledge, no medical examination of Lancea in his life has ever indicated such conditions,” the statement read.
“Lance is the most physically fit person I’ve ever known,” Hornstein continued. “He trained in his gym every day, with extensive cardio work, and the ability to use gym facilities was a contractual requirement for his work from home. He ate like a dietician, watching over his every meal. The evidence appeared to be a death certificate. He was completely absent from his life.”
The statement concluded, “For Stephanie Reddick, the death certificate does not corroborate or contradict the facts known to the family.”
TMZ also reported that Reddick, who was 60, will be cremated — though Hornstein would not comment on that matter.
