Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe got candid about their relationship, including Rob’s attempts to dissuade his son from entering the show and how John found out about his father’s infamous sex tape.
They have joined forces for the new Netflix comedy series Unsettled, a factory comedy where a father and son work together at the biotechnology company that Rob’s character owns.
Speaking in the last constitution of the Lord The health of peopleJohn Owen, 28, admitted that he hasn’t seen any of Rob’s shows or TV shows and discussed how his relationship with his father and mother Sheryl Berkoff has changed.
He said: Your parents, whoever they are, will always just bug you. Always. Even when you’re an adult. Your relationship changes as you get older and your parents become friendlier – but it still bugs you. As they should.’
John Owen also points out how Rob is not keen on the idea of that career as an actor.

He caught the acting bug early, appearing in school plays as The Wizard Of Oz from a young age.
But Rob was trying to push him away, not wanting to see him succumb to the pitfalls of fame if he tried and had a career in the business.
John Owen took a break from acting for a while, especially after people became worried he only wanted friends because he had a famous father.
He said, “I have often compared it with my father, and being brought up several times in conversation, made me so uncomfortable that I wanted to move away from him as much as possible.”
However, after brief stints in finance and research, he returned to his first love of performance.
John Owen was in middle school when he learned about his father’s six tapes, filmed in 1988 when he was 24.
He said: “I was in eighth grade or freshman year, and some kid said, ‘You know, your dad has a sex tape online,'” the young actor recalled. “I was like, ‘What?’
He added that the West Wing star and his mother Sheryl had never dealt with him or his 30-year-old brother Matthew on the express machine.

Rob was 24 years old when his affair with two women, one aged 22 and the other 16, was made public. In 1989, he entered his case involving the mother of a 16-year-old girl. The actor denied that he knew he was under age.
Although the girl was of consenting age at the time, she was not mature enough for the film. He eventually settled the case with the girl’s family and was not charged with the crime.
He found rapping fame in the 1980s, which is when he also started drinking heavily and partying to fuel his overnight success.
At the time, he was the first man to appear in 10 films from 1983 to 1988, a tape that put him on the fringes of Hollywood and pushed him to rock bottom.
Earlier in 2019, he shared that his experience with sex tapes actually helped him on his journey to sobriety, in an interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show.
‘I think it’s the best thing that ever happened to me,’ said the actor.
Honestly, it got me sober. He married soberly. I’ve been married for 29 years, and I have two grown children, so I don’t think anything can be done without that scandal,’ he said.
It was one of the reasons he was sober. I woke up one day and was like, “What am I doing with my life? 29 years.”
Limelight: John Owen also revealed how Rob was not keen on the idea of his career as an actor (in March 2023).
With drug and alcohol addiction, he entered rehab in 1990, at 25, and has been sober since.
John Owen admitted that he was not at all familiar with his father’s life, since he had not seen any of his memorable roles in projects such as Bad Influence and The West Wing.
The star also opened up about her sobriety journey, revealing that she struggled with drugs and alcohol in her younger years.
John Owen said he has been in the hospital several times and told how things could have been different for him – revealing that his best friend who also struggled with addiction died from a Fentanyl overdose.
Along with The Unstable, Rob and John Owen starred together in the sitcom The Grinder in 2015, as well as the Roman movie Wild in 2019.
