CHENNAI: As the scorching heat of May grips the city, the air-conditioned halls of the Chennai Trade Center will play host to an exhibition that claims to be a one-stop destination for fitness and nutrition needs. Organized by Sai Solutions, Fitness, Nutrition & Sports India Expo, South India’s exclusive B2B expo for the fitness equipment, nutrition products, sports goods, and health industry will be held from May 5-7.

City-based Sai Solutions, an exhibition organizing company that entered the scene in 2016 with its first major exhibition, the Pro Wave Expo for the sound and light industry, has gathered big players from across India for this expo. “I did it for the Wave Expo as there were no shows for the sound and light industry held in South India. Equally, the opportunity industry also hasn’t had any great exposure in recent times. So we wanted to bring the manufacturers in North India and the major players in South India and connect and provide a platform for them at one place,” says Sai Vigneshwar, one of the directors of Sai Solutions who is the project manager of FNSI.

The expo will have at least 80 stalls, featuring more than 150 leading brands and manufacturers from India. The football team is expecting 10-12,000 people in all three days from the South Indian region.

This plan was two years before the pandemic struck. The team picked up where it left off in October 2022, and completed this show in six months. This is a good idea for the market.

Near the stalls, several activities, challenges and competitions are also planned. “The biggest attraction will be a bodybuilding competition called UBC, Ultimate Bodybuilding Championship. This is going to be an open tournament for South India. People – unorganized and unorganized can participate. We have 11 categories of bodybuilding and along with IBBFF and Tamil Nadu Gym Owners Association (TNGOA) has become a fitness model (TNGOA) shares Workshops and activities such as Zumba, pep talks, leading artists in the fitness industry, strength competition, and a fun ceremony to congratulate older people on fitness and athletes are also on the cards.

In fact, all nutrition companies will be offering free samples. Short promotions will be held on stage in the presence of a brand ambassador from each company who is expected to meet and greet the audience. The fitness and equipment companies will be holding small competitions and gift hampers.

fitness first

Sai, who is a badminton player, believes that there has been a rise in fitness awareness and more people are interested in the fitness industry. “More gyms are opening. You have chains of gyms, big and small with the smallest to the largest budgets. The market has expanded dramatically in the past year. So I think it’s the best platform for people to find what they’re looking for,” he adds.

This exposure is for all those fitness enthusiasts and business oriented people looking to the industry. “You know what’s going on in the market. If I go to a particular shop, I know that brand. But when I come to the exposition, I will see 20-25 brands that are dealing in the same thing. Each brand will have its own uniqueness and pluses and minuses. I can look, touch and feel, and understand clearly. The range of products I am looking for will give me a better idea than what is available on the market. “This is just what it is,” he said.

The expo will be held from 10 am to 6 pm. Book entry. Register for UBC on or before May 5 for `500. On-site registration is also allowed. For registration, call: 9840030298, 9840931939
