“One of the most moving and memorable chapters is entitled ‘Until we had our accident,'” the Kings shared. You might think that it would be enough for one chapter, but John the King goes on to relate the pain that he and Martha experience when they learn that some pilot they had recently taught has died in a crash, and how sometimes they ask themselves: “How can they teach people the skills of a good conscience, as some shall they be slain by them?”

King School has bundled several new tools for CFIs in its latest offerings. Instructors can now access the new Flight Instructor Program, which allows them to track the progress of their students through any King of Schools course through a discrete link. The tool allows CFIs not only to understand which lessons the student is actually engaged in, but also where their strengths and weaknesses lie. NAFI Scholarship Winner
Finally, Kings joined National Flight Instructors Association chair Karen Kalishek in awarding instructor-to-be Tracy Atobatele with the 2023 NAFI/King Schools Flight Instructor Scholarship. The story of Atobatelus, the King of the Schools, shared in his dismissal, well explains why he was chosen for the honor.
She was born to parents of four children in Lagos, a suburb in Nigeria. When she was eight, she and her father watched a TV segment about a girl pilot. “Why do they admire her so much?” he asked his father. He answered: “I am here.”
“His father’s response moved Tracy Atobatele greatly. In her part of the world, professional success could not be something many women aspire to, but she was determined to succeed, no matter what. Graduating from college with a major in marine biology, she worked first as a seamstress, then as a flight attendant for many paper jet services, and finally as a flight attendant in the paper jet sector.

“Moving to the United States with the help of friends and family, the father embarked on a plan “so magical and magnificent” – his training to become a professional pilot. Endlessly clever, he supported himself by setting up online the business of selling sneakers Made to order in Nigeria using a variety of local fabrics. He did not properly keep all the fruits for himself; sent a portion to Nigeria to pay the hospital bills of poor women giving birth. At the same time, he helped 30 young women mentors to flee to Nigeria.
“Tracy’s parents nurtured her ambitions, her mother even more than her father. Most of the time, mothers want you to settle down and get married. But it was different. There is nothing you cannot do. “You just study!” The outcome of his case remains the admiration of his extended family, many of whom still live in the village 125 miles north of Lagos. he thought he could do it.’
“Extremely shy as a child and young man, Tracy found that her training in flight has changed, making her more confident and assertive. She no longer has trouble developing her sky-the-border plans, which include short-term airline flights, and long-haul opening her own flight school with an eye toward helping other women begin careers in aviation.
The scholarship is valued at $18,000 and includes a $5,000 stipend and lifetime access to King’s schools courses, along with a Flight Instructor Refresher course.
