Dubai Autism launches ‘Autism Murals’ initiative – Emirates 24|7

As part of the annual autism awareness campaign, which was sponsored earlier this month by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, with the slogan “Towards an Autism-Friendly Community”, Excellence. The ‘Autism Murals’ initiative by the Dubai Autism Center under the supervision of a group of local, Arab and foreign artists, aims to transform the walls of buildings into artistic paintings that spread awareness about autism and reveal talents and creativity. people with autism.
As an expression of support for this initiative, Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid said that the annual campaign for autism awareness is an important opportunity to increase the community’s needs of people with autism and how to respect and provide those same needs, allowing them opportunities for development. and better integration into society, according to the leader’s vision and direction for a friendly and supportive community for people of determination. “We are participating in the initiative today in front of a large number of children with autism from the Dubai Early Child Development Center, which is linked to the CDA, in addition to many talented and distinguished people with autism in various fields, together with parents, confirming that they are the best who can effectively carry messages of awareness, and we, as individuals and institutions, will develop ourselves and work methodologies, so that all those who can guarantee their rights to inclusion and empowerment,” Her. In addition to the psychological and social effects, these murals help distinguish autistic talent to express themselves creatively and imaginatively to our society.
Badri expressed his happiness at the cooperation between Dubai Culture and the Dubai Autism Center, as the authority is supporting the activities of the annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of autism. The project also has the support of the Al Jalila Cultural Center for Children and the Dubai Culture & Heritage Sector, as an awareness partner, the duty of authority to involve its social responsibility, and to contribute to strengthening its humanitarian message and encouraging all community members.
Mohammed Al Emadi, Director General of the Dubai Autism Center said: “Since its establishment, the Dubai Autism Center has sought to increase the community’s awareness of autism by using new educational media. Our new “Autism Mural” initiative aims to nurture the creative skills of children with autism with the help of a volunteer artist. who have combined their skills and tools to participate with leading children with autism.
