Derek Ramsay enjoys semi-retirement from showbiz – The Manila Times

Derek Ramsay is proud to be enjoying his semi-retirement. As the 45-year-old Fil-Brit revealed, however, he hasn’t completely turned his back on showbiz.

“Kapag maybe nabasa akong script na bubuhay ng dugo ko, why not?”

His family has as much to do with his humble attitude as his love for his wife Ellen Adarna.

Theodoric’s decision is confirmed by his younger brother Andreas who revealed “Sabi ni kuya, ako rudis muna mag-showbiz. Masaday kasing in love sa asawa niya!”

It is well known that Derek – even before he married Ellen last November – had decided to take everyone’s breath away from him.

In fact, the actor was considered the top GMA bill “To Love and Hold” opposite Carla Abellana and Max Collins. It was Rocco Nacino who replaced him in the series.

But Theodoricus did not regret it, testifying that he contracted the virus easily when he received it on the job. He was especially worried about his old parents.

How lucky he was that GMA could wait until he was ready to get back on his feet.

But Theodoric’s career did not fail to elicit the hope of any bright and profitable business. He made up his mind, so Ellen prefers to be a regular guest on TV shows.

The couple doesn’t care about lost opportunities because they don’t have a balanced income as long as they are happy. It’s the whole thing.

Derek’s life direction here hinges on Andrew.

In a media gathering for the latest Cinemalaya rehearsal, Andrew revealed that Cutaway Productions, which he partly owns, plans to produce a movie starring Derek.

Not only will Andrew and his partners fail in the business venture, he may also want to rule from his writings.

But is Derek going back to another Cinemalaya to realize this dream? Hopefully it is.

Derek’s former buddy John Estrada once said that the Fil-brit actor could not perform “Kasi marami siyang pera!”

Another career option, Derek may consider producing films while taking his time off from acting. Since Ellen shares the same work ethic, Derek is able to enlist his wife to help him with other aspects of production.

I support Derek’s personal decision to prioritize family above all else.

But I don’t think he would want this semi-retirement period to continue.

Getting Ellen pregnant, thus raising a family, made her change her mind.

While GMA granted his request for a release (well, it was a mutual decision), the network is all too ready to bring anyone back. On the other hand, Theodoric certainly says that he will not close the doors.

Maybe he commands sweet time while his wife gets preggy.

If she had her way, she said she would have given birth in 2024. Why Ellen? It is the Year of the Dragon in which she and Derek were born.

In Chinese astrology, three people born in the same year and staying together attract good luck.

Without a doubt, Andre — Aiko Melendez’s son Jomari Yllana — grew up a remarkable young man.

In an interview with Mom, Andre shared his thoughts about the absence of his father while growing up.

While it brought him pain, “Nasanay na ako, eh!”

His relationship with his father has improved a lot though. Unlike before, he can speak his mind freely, when he has contained all his emotions that have spread to him.

Andre issued an indirect ultimatum to Jomari though, “Huwag na niya ulitin ang mga sukuri niya sa akin sa ibang mga kapatid ko.”

Indeed, Jomari will ensure that his son’s warning is well-received, if only so that the father proves his worth through unwanted failures.

None other than Aiko deserves credit for seeing Andre grow up sans some feelings of hatred towards Jomari. Iomari has never spoken badly of an actress or politician in equity.

“He is my son and father after all.”

Probably, what every child has become is often reflected by their parents.
