Denver drew more moderate mayoral candidates ahead
When the Denver mayoral election votes were cast on Tuesday night, two moderate candidates in an unusually large and divergent field of 16 contenders came out far ahead in the initial results.
If early results hold, Kelly Brough, president and CEO of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, and Mike Johnston, a former state senator, could be pushed to a runoff election. the more progressive candidates in the field were largely left leaning.
