I took my photo on one of the Saturdays, March 27th.
I drove up to Supermercado Monterrey North, 2718 Roosevelt Ave., where artists and members of My Brother’s Guard painted a mural of the Mexican superhero Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The lighting outside was picture perfect that day. It’s not visible in this photo, but the submerged clouds and dramatic images of the external flash appealed to me. This image of muralist Juan Velazquez sitting on a chair working on the top of my mural list this week.
The photograph was taken at f/1.4 to create a tunnel vision effect and draw the viewer’s eye right to the subject. It also kicked up to around ISO 50 due to sufficient light coming from the sky and my flash.
From a Mexican superhero painting to an election forum, our photojournalist at the Fort Worth Report captures a variety of events through the week’s photos.
