About “The Cross”

The crossover, based on the novel Kwame by Alexander Kwame, follows twin high school basketball phenoms Jordan “JB” and Josh “Spurs” Bell as they struggle growing up, growing up, and finding themselves on and off the court.

Dirt is a laser-focused athlete, determined to be the next Lebron James. He dutifully followed his brother and best friend JB, always together with advice. But when new girl Alexis comes to town and JB’s interest in basketball begins to wane, tension begins to erupt between the brothers – threatening to break the bond of their lives.

Of course, juggling school, friends, romance, and basketball is not easy with mom, the academically gifted Dr. Crystal Bell is the principal, and the father of a former NBA player, Chuck, is the team’s coach. They only want what’s best for the children, and Chuck’s rules of basketball life have been the “rules of life” that have guided them since they were young. But when Chuck’s health begins to decline, the family’s foundation begins to crumble – forcing everyone to step up, be selfless, and find faith in each other.

With the help of their wise and loyal friends Maya and Vondie, plus guidance and wisdom from their parents and teachers, Dirt and JB learn that in the game of life, basketball isn’t everything…but family is always connected by the net.
